Finished projects and WIPs

I finished Soleil. I think it's gonna be ok. I guess I'll decided for sure when I get to wear it. Right now it's too cold to wear to work and see if it's comfortable. I still haven't decided how to make this whole blog/pic thing work so everything looks good. Oh well. I went to the Mission Rose in North Syracuse with Lisa and I bought a ton of yarn. It's a beautiful store. They have a very good selection of sweater yarn. I bought yarn to make the Citrus Yoke Pullover from the winter 07 Interweave Knits magazine. It's Berrocco Peruvia and it's a dark purple color. I also had to have this Cashmere yarn to make a ribbed scarf. The balls were $20 each and you needed 3, but it came in a kit with 3 balls for $48! I had to have it. Here's a pic of the finished product. It feels so soft against my skin and I'm going to love wearing it.

I've been working diligently on the Eyelet Cardi made with some beautiful alpaca that I purchased at Rhinebeck. I like working with the alpaca more now that I bought some addi turbo needles. I found the alpaca hard to work with on bamboo needles. It doesn't slide as easily as wool. Here's a pic of what I have done so far.
While working on these 2 sweaters I'm still plugging along on my monkey socks. They take some concentration so when I need mindless knitting I pull out the alpaca sweater. My vacation is near over. I go back to work tomorrow. Then it's a good 4 weeks or so until Easter when we get more time off. My poor husband is very sicks right now, I think he may have pneumonia. I've been taking care of him as much as I can. I hope when he sees the DR tomorrow they give him some good drugs so he can get better fast. In the mean time, homemade chicken noodle soup soothes the soul. Back to some knitting!

Finished Soleil

So I finished my Soleil, minus the crocheted border around the neck and armholes. It fits great except it's 2 inches too short. I'm going to hope and pray it will block out longer. If not I'm going to add some ribbing to the bottom since I didn't do the lace pattern. It looks beautiful, just a bit too short. Now I'm working on the Eyelet Cardi from Chic Knits using some beautiful brown alpaca. It's turning out wonderfully. I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance.

WIP

Right now I'm working on Monkey socks from Knitty using Wildfoote Soft Jazz. After being a little annoyed with the yarn at first (it separates quite easily) I've decided I love it! These socks are flying along and I'm loving the softness of the yarn. Good thing because I have 3 other colors. I've also made a little headway on the Soleil tank-top from knitty.com Spring 2005. I've decided not to do the lace pattern at the bottom and just did Stockinette. It's turing out quite lovely and I hope it fits. I've been losing weight so I hope it's not too big. I'm knitting feverishly to start the central park hoodie over break next week. I probably won't get to it, but I can dream. Maybe we'll have a snow day tomorrow! Wear your PJs inside out and backwards. I hear it really works!

Sock progress

I have been so busy trying to get my Dragon Dance socks done. I am nearly there. I will post pictures when I am finished. The pattern was easier than I thought. It didn't take too much thought/concentration and I've been able to work while watching TV. I have so many other WIP that I need to finish. Actually, just 2. I am making a tank top out of some yarn that I bought at Rhinebeck and I am also making a sweater out of some alpaca that I bought at Rhinebeck. I want to get these finished so that I can make the Central Park Hoodie. I am feeling like I'm running out of time to get these things done that I can wear in the cold weather. I don't want to finish them and then have to wait until next fall to wear them. Of course as soon as you finish a project you want to wear it right away! I have a week off of work coming up. That will be spend knitting feverishly.
