Summer vacation
Things have settled somewhat since I last wrote. I'm still loving my Saturday shift and the things that were issues are no longer issues. It is now summer vacation and I'm loving it! I've been off of school for a whole week now but it doesn't seem like that long. I've been so busy since last week. Thursday night was drill. I was able to operate the spreaders all by myself and then I cut the B-post by myself! Then Friday I went to graduation and then directly to WAVAC. I worked my first 24 and actually had a ton of fun even though I only had 3 hours of sleep. How can I not have fun when I work with Kyle? He's an awesome partner. We ran 3 calls that took close to 12 hours and it was still fun. On Sunday I left for this fantastic food conference at Cornell with the home and careers teacher Shannon. We got free hotel rooms for 2 nights and got a $250 stipend. We learned a lot of really cool culture and food things. I got home Tuesday evening around 6:30. I then had to be to WAVAC at 8am Wednesday. I worked with Bryan. I thought I was going to hate working with him because I never really liked him much but I actually didn't mind it. We did absolutely nothing until about 8:30. Then we did an MVA and on our way back we did a General Illness. I didn't get home from that shift until 2am. I did a lot of knitting on a baby blanket on that shift. Heather is having twins. I finally have 1 blanket done. Haven't been doing a lot of knitting lately so hopefully I will be able to get the second one finished before she actually has her twins. They are due in less than 2 weeks. Thursday and today have been very relaxing around here. I've been puttering around, knitting and cleaning. It's been great. Yesterday we met with the bank manager to set up a refinance on our mortgage so that we can have it paid of earlier and a much lower interest rate. Tomorrow I work at WAVAC from 8-midnight and then on Sunday we go to Liberty to celebrate the fourth with Jesse's family. I really hope the busyness doesn't keep up. I wanted to have a fairly mellow summer. No news on the baby front yet, but I'm hoping by the end of the summer there will be news. Well I guess that catches everyone up for now. I will hopefully try to keep this current but I'm not making any promises. Maybe sometime I will post pictures of knitting projects but in the mean time if you are a member of ravelry you can find me there under cweigand.
