Wow it has been years since I wrote last!  I'm trying to get back to a "normal" life although normal is totally different with a CHILD!  Yup that's right!  I had a baby February 16, 2011.  Things got pretty exciting back in July 2010.  First I ended up delivering a baby in the back of the ambulance which was way cool!  Then I got pregnant.  Garrett James was born at 31w2d on February 16, 2011.  He was supposed to be due April 18.  He came out screaming and doing well but spent 33 days in the NICU learning to eat and growing.  He was 4lbs and 17 inches when he was born.  He came home March 21, 2011 and things have been changing ever since.  He definitely keeps us on our toes.  He is 2.5 years old now and is all caught up except in the area of talking.  This may be due to his many ear infections.  He will be getting tubes at the end of August and I am hopefull that this will help with his speech.  This summer has been flying by already.  I have been working at the summer program nurse at my school, did a week of teaching summer school and did some curriculum writing.  I have been fitting things in like going to Tennessee to see my family, a few trips to the beach, a few trips to the zoo, trips to the park, etc. too keep my little man entertained.  Jesse (the hubby) has been basically living at the RIT Inn for the month of July.  He goes out on Sunday and comes back Thursday.  This is for Project Lead the Way training.  None of us are thrilled about it.  Maybe next summer we can get a camper and do some camping.  As far as knitting, well that has pretty much stopped since the little guy was born.  I'm always so busy with him or with keeping up the house (or that silly thing called work).  I would love to get back into it.  I do have a cedar chest full of yarn!  Lisa and I will be going to Rhinebeck this year if it kills us!  We haven't been since October 2010 when I was pregnant and ending the awful morning sickness phase.  Man that sucked.  I thought I'd have a lot of time to knit at the summer program this year but I was too busy (and am still too busy) doing work.  Next year I will be teaching half time Middle School and half time High School.  I really need to start thinking about how that is going to work out.  Well that's all for now.  I'm going to be leaving work soon and getting the little guy (and heading home to try to finish painting the bathroom).  Note to self.....don't take on a project with a 2 year old at home when the hubs is away!
